William "Billy" Dawkins

William “Billy” Dawkins, of Oxford, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the age of 71. Mr. Dawkins was a proud member of East Newton Baptist Church and was a member of the Mansfield Masonic Lodge #489 for over 50 years and the Golden Fleece. He liked woodworking, fishing, and traveling to the mountains. Mr. Dawkins also loved the Georgia Bulldogs and the Braves and enjoyed playing golf and horseshoes. Known for his unwavering spirit and determination, he was never a quitter. Mr. Dawkins loved his family, grandchildren and friends dearly and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sara Hamby; brother-in-law, Stanley Kiser; and in-laws, Harvey and Eula Kiser. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Diane Dawkins; son, Lee Dawkins (Angie); grandchildren, Brittany Astin (CJ), Joseph Dawkins (Ryann), Harlie Miller, Lacey Black (Justin), Chassity Hamilton (Tanner), Ashley Booker (DJ), Katie Culp; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Kenzlee, Chandler, Elijah, Carson, Audrey, Daisy Jo, Jackson, Wesley, Callie, Alli, Titus, Mila, Kai, Nori, Nils; brother-in-law, Bob Hamby; as well as nephews, Jared Hamby, Montana Hamby (Natalee).

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Dawkins will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2024, 2:00 P.M., at East Newton Baptist Church, 11290 Highway 278, in Covington, with Pastor Danny officiating.
