William Robert "Cotton" Boyette, age 66, of Covington, died February 27, 2011, at DeKalb Medical Hillandale in Lithonia. He was self-employed in the heavy equipment rental business with Boyette Brothers Company, Inc. He was also a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 926, a cattleman, and a collector of antique farm tractors. Mr. Boyette liked to fish and was a sports fan who enjoyed watching NASCAR races, Braves baseball and Falcons football. He was a prankster who enjoyed playing jokes, and was very loyal to his family and his friends. Surviving are his wife, Louise Boyette; sons and daughters-in-law, William Robert, Jr. and Kahlil Boyette of Sharpsburg, John Darrick and Deena Boyette, Covington; grandchildren, Corey John Boyette, Ellie Ryan Boyette, Kael William Boyette, Karis Annslee Boyette, Kort Wyatt Boyette; mother, Margie Lee Boyette of Tucker; brother, Donald Walter Boyette, also of Tucker. He was preceded in death by his father, William Walter Boyette, Jr. A graveside service for Mr. Boyette will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 4:00 PM (CST), at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Vernon, FL, with Aubrey Herndon, officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, Tuesday, March 1, 2011, from 5 until 8 PM.
