Access RoadWilliam T. Thompson of Oxford, passed away November 21, 2010, at the age of 65. Mr. Thompson was a resident of Oxford, since 1971, and owned and operated Thompson Framing & Construction company for 39 years. He was a Nascar fan. In his younger years, he was a stock car driver and raced in the Athens area for several years. Mr. Thompson was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Lamar (Tab) Thompson, Sr.; sister, Mary Allgood; and his brother, Albert Lamar Thompson, Jr. Survivors include his loving wife, Linda L. Thompson of Oxford; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Guy Floyd of Macon; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Tracy Thompson, currently serving our country in Kuwait, Christopher Thompson of Monroe; mother, Eulene Thompson of Good Hope; sisters, Marjorie Reagan of Conyers, Barbara Fisher of Good Hope, Patricia Palmer of Monroe, Carolyn Simmons of Walnut Grove, Doreen Wilbanks of Jackson, Rhonda Cain of Loganville; brothers, Troy Thompson of Covington, Doyle Thompson of Monroe, Tony Thompson of Rutledge; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Thompson will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2010, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Rd., with interment following in Carter Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, November 23, from 5-8 PM.
