William "Billy" Williams

Access RoadWilliam "Billy" Williams of Oxford passed away October 9, 2012 at Newton Medical Center. He was 75 years of age at the time of his death. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Carolyn (Armistead) Williams; parents, Mary Ethel (Jones) and Benjamin Haygood Williams; and brother, Gene Williams. He loved fishing, hunting, and was a huge sports fan, especially Georgia Football. Mr. Williams was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Mr. Williams is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Wendy Williams, Kevin and Britney Williams, all of Oxford; grandchildren, Mitch Williams, Ashleigh Williams, Peyton Williams, Caleb Williams, and Aidan Williams, all of Oxford; brother, Charles Williams of Gainesville; mother-in-law, Doris Armistead of Oxford; as well as several nieces and nephews.Funeral Services for Mr. Williams will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Cornish Mountain Baptist Church in Covington, with Rev. Jerry Barrett and Rev. Bill Stafford officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Wednesday, October 10, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
