Winna Jean Evans

Access RoadWinna Jean Evans of Covington passed away May 12, 2013 at Rockdale Medical Center. She was 72 years of age at the time of her death. Mrs. Evans worked in the optical business for 45 years, and was employed by Southern Optical for over 30 years. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents, Gail and Minnie (Martin) Whiting. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Johnny G. Evans, Sr., of Covington; daughters and son-in-law, Eva and Eugene Cavender, Bonnie Lou Evans, all of Covington; son, Johnny Evans, Jr. of Covington; granddaughter, Ashley Evans; sisters, Hazel Fadinnes, Mary Martin, and Betty Atkins; brothers and sister in law, Bob and Doris Whiting, Buddy Whiting, Dave Whiting, Kenny Whiting, and Ernie Whiting; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Evans will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. J. Clifton Brown officiating and following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.
