Woodie L. Knight "Duck"

Woodie L. Knight "Duck" of Covington, passed away August 8, 2017, at 81 years of age. Mr. Knight grew up in Porterdale and served in the United States Coast Guard from 1955 - 1959. He retired from Snapping Shoals EMC after 37 years of employment. A family man at heart, Mr. Knight also loved hunting, fishing and golfing. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Helen Della (Piper) Knight; sister, Virginia Pike; and brother Marvin Knight.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Peggy Knight; sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Sherry Knight, Wade and Terri Knight, Shane and Mary Knight, Heath and Melinda Knight; sisters, Marilyn Hailey, Kathleen Hammonds; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Knight will be held Sunday, August 13, 2017, 3:00 PM, at Christ Cornerstone Church, 1020 Oak Hill Road, Covington, with Pastor Darrell Payne officiating. Friends may visit with his family at the church, two hours prior to his service, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Cornerstone Church, P.O. Box 1998, Covington, GA 30015.
