James Arnold Ruark

James Arnold Ruark, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022. He was born on March 18, 1948, in Bostwick, Georgia. James was a simple and honest man. He was a very successful cattleman who loved his work and took pride in what he did. Working hard from sun-up to sun-down was his daily routine. He graduated from Morgan County High School and attended ABAC after he served in the United States Army. On July 15, 1971, James married Jamie Ruth Henderson, and they had a son, Clinton James, and a daughter, Dana Lee. He built their home in Mansfield where the family lived for more than 40 years until Jamie preceded him in death in 2018. James was a man of few words when expressing his love. But you knew in your heart that he loved and appreciated your acts of kindness. Simple things brought him joy and happiness. We can all learn a lot from him if we just examine his life closely. Be humble and appreciate the simple things in life. James was preceded in death by his wife, Jamie Ruth Ruark; parents, Wiley Arnold and Louise Catherine Ruark; and sister, Patricia Barnett.

Survivors include his daughter, Dana Burton (Scott); Son, Clinton Ruark; grandchildren, Gaven Edge, Aubrey Burton; and sisters, Linda Schwamlein, Nancy Peters.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Ruark will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022, 11:00 A.M., at Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church, 1041 Church Street, in Bostwick, with Charlie Henderson officiating and interment following in Bostwick Memorial Cemetery, in Bostwick. Friends are invited to visit with the family, Wednesday, November 30, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church, 1041 Church Street, Bostwick, GA 30623.
