Nancy Davis Martin, of Covington, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the age of 63 after battling a very aggressive form of brain cancer called Glioblastoma. Those who knew Nancy will always remember her passion for hard work, the love she had for her family, and her willingness to adopt as many cats as possible. Whether you knew her as Nancy or Momma Cat, you knew that you could count on her with anything you needed. On the rare times she was not busy with work she loved being outside either in the yard or at a campground, watching NASCAR races, and after seeing the beautiful blue water in the Bahamas for the first time she was forever hooked on cruising. Nancy was certainly one of a kind, and she will be forever missed by her loved ones and former co-workers alike.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Wanda.
Survivors include her loving husband, Neil; children, Tiffany and Chris; grandchildren, Skylar, Phoenix, Leland, and Cheyanne; siblings Jerry, Rodney and Becky, as well as her nieces Courtney and Ashley, and nephew Ryan.
A funeral service for Mrs. Martin will be held Friday. May 10, 2024 at 4:00pm, at Stewart Baptist Church, where she attended with her husband located at 158 Stewart Church Road in Covington with Pastor Jerry Jones officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family to share stories of how Nancy touched their lives at the church prior to attending the service from 2:00-4:00pm.
Despite the known survival rates for Glioblastoma Nancy was determined to try everything the doctors suggested in order to help further cancer research for the betterment of others. As this was the same illness which took her father’s life, she knew from the start it would be a long uphill battle, but she wanted to try her best to be of service to others. Prior to her own battle with cancer, Nancy even proudly did 6 of the Susan G Koman 3-Day Breast Cancer walks because fighting all cancer was so near and dear to her heart. Please take Nancy’s example and donate to a cancer cause of your choice in lieu of sending any flowers in her remembrance or join a local cancer walk to continue her quest to keep others from falling to these tragic illnesses.
This obituary was prepared with love and affection by Mrs. Martin's family.
