Noel Hegwood

Noel Hegwood, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the age of 68. Mr. Hegwood was a hard worker and volunteer fireman for 26 years. He enjoyed fishing on Lake Oconee, woodworking, and liked to work on lawnmowers, cars, and trucks – he was always fixing something. Mr. Hegwood never put himself before others and was a great husband and father who loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Hegwood was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Sarah Hegwood.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Jimmie Hegwood; son, Joshua Noel Hegwood (John Gleba); daughter, Kimberly Stovall; step-children, Michael Morgan, Jodi Gaynes (Jeff); grandchildren, Kurt Stovall, Kaitlyn Hall, Tyler Hegwood, Kaegen Graham; step-grandchildren, Michael Morgan, Jr., Christi Morgan, Melissa Morgan, Hunter Morgan, Matthew Morgan, Matthew Gaynes, Wyatt Gaynes; great-grandchildren, Bailey Morgan, Cayson Fox, Camden Fox, Zayne Morgan, Noah Morgan, Emma Morgan, River Morgan,  Mason Morgan, Asher Morgan, Bella Gaynes; siblings, Ann Locklear, John Hegwood, Michael Hegwood, Rachel Williams; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Hegwood will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, 11:00 A.M, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor June Locklear officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Friday, November 3, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.
